Stop Rent Gouging
State law prohibits rent gouging during a declared emergency; rents may not rise more than 10% above pre-emergency levels. to report rent gouging contact The Los Angeles County Consumer; Business Affairs at 800-593-8222 or complaints@dcba.lacounty.gov
Current or prospective renters who believe they have been victims of rental housing price gouging should also report it to the California Attorney General at oag.ca.gov/report. For more information about price gouging and other common consumer issues after a disaster click below.
Protect Tenants
Protect Tenants: The fires have displaced thousands, driving up rent prices and worsening housing instability for low-income residents. In response, the Pasadena Tenants Union urges an emergency rent freeze and eviction moratorium.
Space Together
Space Together will soon connect displaced families with available housing opportunities shared by churches. Church members can list available spaces on the platform to match with displaced families. Door of Hope
Door of Hope is supporting low- and very low-income families displaced by the Eaton Fire through two key programs: Transitional Housing – Prioritizing displaced families for immediate shelter at Pasadena sites and Fire Assistance; Disaster Case Management – Providing housing navigation, financial assistance, and connections to additional resources for eligible families.
